An excerpt of the whole walk with the Lying and Breathing by Elias Kirsche / Glynis Ackermann. After about 20 minutes the police was on the square. They were talking with the lying performers for about 5 minutes while Thomas Zollinger was coming from the outside with a slow approach. After 25 minutes the performance was definitily interrupted by the police. After 30 minutes the naked performers put on the clothes. They were driven to the police station where they had to wait for 2 hours until the fine was payed by the organisators of the Festival. The „Naked Slow Walk“ was shown in the Croatia TV and there were short reports in online-medias all over Europe. Links on the website ritualtheater.ch
„In 1981 famous Croatian performance artist Tomislav Gotovac made a performance called Zagreb, I Love You in which he walked naked from the main square in the centre of Zagreb (Trg bana Jelačića) all the way through Zagreb’s busiest shopping street Ilica. To honor this great recently deceased artist we are organising the Zagreb, I Love you Festival as an act of rememberance. We are inviting artists who examine the body and it’s relationship to public space through their art (with and emphasis on performance) to participate in the festival. The festival theme is the challenge and confrontation of the naked body and urban landscape in the historical core of the city, expressing in this way the duality between nature and culture.“
